Dreamcatchers in Weddings - UNITY Ceremony Dreamcatchers

Beyond their decorative appeal, dreamcatchers continue to play a role in various ceremonies and rituals. Many couples incorporate dreamcatchers into their weddings, where they symbolize unity, protection, and the weaving together of dreams.

Two feathered fronds are joined together onto the custom-designed dreamcatcher while couples recite their vows or as a symbol of their new unity.

Including additional fronds for family members is also a loving gesture to acknowledge their participation in your past and also in your future.

Yearly "anniversary" feathered fronds are also available to add to the dreamcatcher as your dreams and years grow together.

Dreamcatchers can also be incorporated into your wedding as table centerpieces, bouquets for the bridesmaids and boutonnieres for the groomsmen and other wedding party members.

Unity Dreamcatcher - Suggested script for program

Dreamcatchers symbolize the yearning for a better life. They are one of the most fascinating traditions of Native American Lore. It is believed that nightmares are trapped in the web until they perish in the first light of day and that good dreams floating in the night’s air pass through the web and flow down the dangling feathers

to the sleeping dreamers below.

The Unity Dreamcatcher which you now complete represents the coming together of your two lives in marriage, the physical act of joining your lives and dreams.

The two fronds represent both of your lives in this moment. To bring unity and happiness to your home there will be the merging of these two fronds onto one dreamcatcher.

From this point on your thoughts and dreams will be for each other, rather than your individual selves. Your plans should be mutual, your joys and sorrows also shared.

May the assembly of this dreamcatcher be a testimony of your unity forever.
